Mary Ellen Northrop Endowed Fund for Music Education
The Mary Ellen Northrop Endowed Fund makes outstanding music instruction available to families earning under $150,000 per year. Fill out the contact form below to see if you’re eligible for a year of free music lessons!*
*For students 0-18 years old. Guitar and charter school students are not eligible for Northrop grants, but may still qualify for other tuition assistance.

What Families Often Ask
Do I or my child need any music experience?
Not at all! Many of our students are complete beginners, including preschoolers just starting their musical journey.
Can we try a lesson before committing?
Absolutely! We offer a free sample lesson, no commitment. You can sign up via the form below.
Do parents need to attend classes too?
In some programs, especially for younger children, parent participation is encouraged or expected. It’s a great way to connect and support your child’s learning.
How does tuition assistance work?
Families earning under $150,000 may qualify for a scholarship through the Mary Ellen Northrop Endowed Fund. The application is simple, and we’re here to support you. The first step is to sign up below and we’ll be in touch.
Are instruments included in the programs?
If you receive a scholarship under the Mary Ellen Northrop Endowed Fund, instrument rental or purchase may be covered.*
Where are programs held?
We offer programs throughout Delaware, including main locations in Wilmington and Milford, as well as satellite sites in Newark and Dover.
